User reports running Gemma 4 26B (MoE) locally at around 75-90 tok/s on an AMD Radeon RX 7900 XT with 20 GB VRAM. Setup is LM Studio with ROCm on Windows 10 Pro, with a Ryzen 7 7700X and 32 GB DDR5; the phone UI connects over Tailscale. The speed is given only as a range, and the post is mainly about the mobile-first agentic web UI with tool calling for file edits, PowerShell commands and web search.

User reports Gemma 4 31B Q5 at 20 t/s on two RTX 3060 12GB cards in llama.cpp, up from 14 t/s with layer splitting, a 42% gain. One card runs on PCIe x16 and the other on a PCIe 3.0 x1 riser; the user notes the fit and context are tight and that testing was limited while awaiting a PSU upgrade. On a rented 2x RTX 5060 Ti 16GB machine, L3.1 Nemotron Sunfall 71B IQ3_XS at 2k context with flash attention gave 20.7 t/s generation and 464.4 t/s prompt processing under tensor split, versus 11.7 t/s and 591.8 t/s under layer split. PCIe traffic during decode measured roughly 90-110 MB/s per direction, with load spikes above 4,000 MB/s.

User reports Gemma 4 12B QAT at 20 t/s decode and 1100 t/s prefill on a single Intel Arc A770 16GB. Setup is llama.cpp with QAT weights, Q8 KV cache and a Q4 MTP head, giving 128k context with about 5GB VRAM headroom; the card is in a 13-year-old Haswell desktop with under 6GB RAM headroom. Four models run together at 14-15GB VRAM via llama-swap, with LiteLLM routing prompts through Laya to thinking and non-thinking aliases of the 12B. The user notes SYCL/llama.cpp lacks Alchemist optimizations, making the A770 the bottleneck, and that GPU-resident models still use 4-5GB of system RAM as compute buffer.

User reports Gemma 4 E2B running at a consistent 5.5 t/s on an Android phone, with peaks up to 8.8 t/s, in Italian. Setup is LiteRT on the phone's mobile processor, after switching from llama.cpp and updating the device from Android 15 to 16. The user also reports Qwen2.5 1.5B at a consistent 8 t/s on the same device, and says the setup shows local AI on Android is doable without expensive hardware.

Setup is llama.cpp Vulkan/RADV with -ngl 99 -fa 1, a 256 MB BAR, the card pinned to profile_peak, and both GGML_VK_DISABLE_HOST_VISIBLE_VIDMEM=1 and GGML_VK_MMID_F16B=0 set. A 10 h soak ran 6,724/6,724 requests with decode flat from 66.2 to 63.7 tok/s between the first and last quarter. Big model loads wedge the card at the default power level unless profile_peak is set, which idles at 137 W; a wrapper switching it around jobs passed 22/22 image jobs. A full 32 GB BAR works only with the dock powered on at boot, where 27B Q8_0 decode is 17.9 tok/s at a 1k context.

User asks about a budget upgrade to run Gemma 4 31B Q5_K_M at 16K context and at least 15 t/s, currently getting 2.3 t/s generation (2.7 t/s with MTP) on an RTX 3060 12GB with 47% GPU / 53% CPU offload. Setup is Ollama/llama.cpp with Q5_K_M weights and Q8 KV cache on an i5-14400F with 32GB DDR4; the 243-token prompt was processed with the model partly offloaded to system RAM. User says IQ3_M drops quality without adding speed, and is weighing an RTX 5060 Ti 16GB plus the 3060 on a PCIe 3.0 x1 riser, dual Tesla P100s on an X79/X99 Xeon system, or a cheaper AMD 16GB card.
