Trending MCP servers

MCP servers give a model tools like file access, a browser or your notes. We follow 5,072 of them and rank them by the GitHub stars they're gaining and how often people link them on Reddit. Where llamaperf users have tried one with a local model, you'll see whether it worked. Filter for the ones that run on your own machine.

Where this comes from

Servers come from the official MCP registry, GitHub topic searches and repositories linked in r/mcp. A server is listed once it has 25 stars, a Reddit post linking it or a community report. Stars are read from GitHub once a day, most recently on 2026-10-08, and a gain is the difference between two readings. GitHub no longer shows when each star was given, so there is no history from before our first reading. "Runs locally" and "needs a key" come from the server's registry entry; a server with no entry shows neither. Stars and posts measure attention. The local reports come from people who ran them.
